richvh-san, I've read Fuyumi Ono's "Shiki." Do you know it? It was very scary! "Twelve kingdoms" is very famous. I'd like to read them someday.

rio-san, I've read Harry Potter's 4th book in English. It was good. Have you already read the 7th book (in Japanese)?

No, "Mashou no Ko" was the only one of her horror stories I have read. Horror doesn't really interest me that much; I read "Mashou no Ko" because of the tie-in to Twelve Kingdoms, which was recommended to me to help me write Yuki no Monogatari.

Rio, you know "Shiki" too! But you gave it up halfway? That's scarier, isn't it?

Richvh, I usually avoid to read horror because it's scary. I didn't know "Shiki" was a horror when I started to read. I thought it's a mystery or something. While I was reading, gradually, I'd been realizing it was a horror. But by that time, I couldn't stop reading. To stop reading a horror halfway is very very scary isn't it? Even if all character dies, I need whatever conclusion.

About "Harry Potter", I'm looking forward to hearing your impression after you finish to read all volumes.

Hi, everyone. I like reading very much.

I had read the 1st, 2nd and the 3rd series of Harry Potter. I didn't finished the 4th and 5th one though they were sitting on the bookshelf. I am scared of the thickness of the book.

Detective stories from Agatha Christie are good.

I also like the children books written by Roald Dahl.
Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and The Witches are interesting to read.

Fiction like The Lost Boy: A Foster Child's Search for the Love of a Family by Dave Pelzer is very touching. I had read 3 of them.

DaVinci Code by Dan Brown is good too

Series of Shopaholics by Sophie Kinsella are interesting for the girls

Hello pumpkinB.

I know what you mean. I measured the thickness of 4th before I started reading....but I regretted doing it.It's over 5 centimeters. I don't know how long it will take for me to finish reading.

I like Agatha Christie, too!

Hello, Rio and Maruko,

I am so glad both of you like books from Agatha Christie.
The stories are always mysterious and interesting.
