I'd never be so arrogant as to claim that English is the best language, but I do think it's pretty ultra. When it comes to having words that rhyme, French just can't be beat. French is like silk. All the sounds blend well together like a blues rhapsody. English is like polyester. It feels synthetic against your skin and will last you forever, so you can never get rid of it. However, English is a monster; it eats up all the other languages, and all the languages become a part of this juggernaut. English reappropriates words from Japanese, Spanish, Russian, German, French, Italian, Yiddish, Greek, Latin, and maybe a few other languages like Arabic and Portuguese. No other language has as many words as English. English also has the most articles on Wikipedia. Yessiree, no other language has nearly as much slang, references, nuances, idioms, and expressions. The language itself is easy to learn, but difficult to master. Most learners will make fools of themselves among the literati. Of course, if you just want to use it for utilitarian purposes, English is still about 500 times easier than French, 600 times easier than Japanese, and 700 times easier than Chinese.
