I'm staying in Nara right now. I spent four years when I was in university, so I can relax staying in this old town. There were many places I wanted to see again, so when I arrived here in Friday afternoon, I rushed. I walked around the arcade and Nara Park, however, I didn't enjoy much. I felt like I didn't have enough time. It was not a rational idea. I thought that I needed something like exercise. I went up to a temple on a hill.
The sun had just set over the mountains. Many yellow lanterns were lit. Some people were sitting and enjoying the view from the terrace. The scene was beautiful like a dream. I took pictures. I sat there for a while, and checked the time on my walkman. I noticed a man looking at me. He had a big camera, but didn't take pictures, looked just enjoying the time there. I sat in a short distance from him. I tried to relax as he did.
The colour of the sky became darker. I was reminded of the stoty written by Natsume Souseki, in which a man was waiting for a hundred years, counting the sunset and sunrise. The summer breeze was humid but nice. I felt at ease eventually when the night fell. I was there for two hours.
