Hello my Lang-8 friends! This is Flipper, and I’m doing another audio recording. I was actually going to record this outside and maybe get some nature sounds in here, but my eyes are a little bit sensitive right now because this morning I went to the eye doctor, and they gave me some eye drops that dilated my pupils. So, I’m extra sensitive to bright lights, and I’m also having a little trouble reading, so I decided I’d might as well stay indoors and do it here, so…

Anyway, summer is wrapping up. It is… What day is today? It is August fourteenth, in America at least. So, a lot of high school students, at least around here, will be heading back to school in about two weeks, and students who are going off to college or returning to college will… Mmm, it depends on, it depends on their school, but they could be heading back this week, maybe they already went, or maybe in about two weeks too. It—it—it really depends on where you’re going.

Anyway, so, that means that summer is coming to an end. I’ve already noticed the days are getting shorter, and I guess in a couple months or weeks the weather will start getting cold too, so… That’s a little depressing, but I can’t say that I DON’T like winter, because I do! I like the snow, I like dressing up in warm clothing, I like the holidays. We have… What do we have?… We have Thanksgiving, which I guess is a fall holiday, but it’s still pretty cold. We have Thanksgiving, we have Christmas, we have New Year’s… So, that’ll—I’m looking forward to it.

Plus, this will be my last year in high school, my senior year. And because of that, since I’ll be graduating, I actually get out of school a little bit earlier than the rest of the high school, so that’s also pretty exciting. I’m also, you know, looking forward to college. I haven’t started sending out my applications yet, but I will—pfrf—sometime this fall, I would assume, if I’m on the right schedule. And, after that, I will decide on my college in the spring, and then after that summer, a year from now, I will be getting ready to go. And around this time, who knows, I could already be at my university. So, it’s really exciting. I—I’m almost *chuckle* shaking just thinking about it, so… That’s something to look forward to for me, at least…

Well, uhh, that’s enough rambling I guess. I’ve been talking for a while. I will try to add a… a, uh… What’s the word? Like a transcript in my entry too, so you guys can follow along or if you get stuck on some words I say, you can always refer to that. But please keep in mind that speaking… Or, spoken English is… inherently different from written English. I’m—if I wrote down what I’m saying, it would be a grammatical mess. Spoken English is not grammatically correct, at least the—the English I speak. So, you will notice, if you read through the transcript I’m gonna add, there’s gonna be some weird… speaking patterns and errors, so try not to overthink about it. Umm, try not to overthink it. And, other than that, I hope this is good listening practice, maybe good reading practice, and maybe you learned something new. So, until the next time I record, goodbye!
