  • You can leave it as "... or their privacy invaded," because that's ellipsis: the same verb is understood. Or you can put it in. "Privacy" is almost always a non-count noun.

  • When you say "These would be useful for people" ,means that "Under circumstances they are useful"...so since you hope then you want to be useful under all circumstances for all people... It might not make sense but in few words: In this case if you say "would" it seems that you are not really "hoping",that you are not sincere enough.
