I enjoy listening to the TED talks lectures on my mp3-player while I’m walking to the metro. I've just heard accidentally two lectures about the same thing in general. These lectures are about the concept of benefits of physical exercises for brain health. Both of the lecturers are the neurobiologists. One of them, named Lisa Genova, focuses on the research of Alzheimer's disease, she also is the author of the bestseller "Stil Alice". The second lecturer is the full professor in neurobiology (I don't know her name) and her research focuses on the influence of physical exercises on the brain health. According to her, the workout has the short- as well as long-term positive effect on the mood and brain health. For instance, regular workout for about 4-5 times a week for 30 minutes reduces the risk of developing of dementia.
