A mountain trail to Kiso-Komagatake starts from Senjojiki-Cirque, where we get off the gondola. A cirque is a bowl-shaped valley formed by glacial erosion. The part of the bottom of bowl is almost flat, but as we approach the part of the edge of bowl, the slope becomes steeper. The snow in the cirque was fluffy and there were clear footing formed on the slope by many people ahead, yet some people, including me, almost got stuck on the steep slope causing a long line behind them up to the ridgeline on the top of the slope.
